In 2006, local author Christine Ardalan author of Warm Hearts, Caring Hands: South Florida Nursing from Frontier to Metropolis 1880-2000, was the guest speaker at Author! Author!. The library supported Magnet Excellence for South Miami Hospital and Baptist Hospital through archiving the works on Baptist authors. In 2006, the library started to offer after-hours access to the library for staff who worked nights and weekends and needed a place to research even when the librarians were home. In 2006 the library also offered a class on Writing for Publication, worth 1 CE credit for nurses.
