In 2010, Adrienne Sylver, a Marketing department staff member was the guest speaker at Author! Author! Sylver published the children's book The History of the Hot Dog in the summer of 2010. In 2010 the library was able to donate $1,290 for the Sunshine Fund, $1,800 for South Miami Hospital's favorite Charity for Children orphanage in the Caribbean, as well as, $1,600 in the library's "Read for Haiti." In 2010 the library worked with Doctors Hospital and Homestead Hospital, to begin their Magnet initiatives. In 2010 the library's Electronic Services Librarian Devica Samsundar was promoted to Manager of Electronic Library Services at Baptist Health South Florida.
